Sea and beaches
Mediterranean coast and seafront promenade.
Playa del Cristo with Blue Flag, La Rada next to the promenade, Playa del Ángel and 11 km of coastline. No hills, no complications.
Estepona's seafront promenade bears the name of a man shot at 22 years old. Almost nobody knows this.
Before you go
In high season (July and August), Playa de la Rada is the busiest. For a calm swim, Playa del Cristo or Playa del Ángel are better options. The seafront promenade works well at any time of year.
Next to the seafront · 1.8 km long
Playa de la Rada
The urban beach of Estepona, flanked by the Pedro Manrique Seafront Promenade. Sand, beach bars and the old town five minutes away. The most central and the liveliest in summer.
Blue Flag · Fine sand · Next to the Sports Harbour
Playa del Cristo
More sheltered and quieter than La Rada. Fine sand and clear water that earned it the Blue Flag. Located west of the centre, next to the sports harbour. The favourite of Estepona residents when they want a calm swim.
East of the centre · Less crowded · Free access
Playa del Ángel
East of the centre, less well-known and less busy. No beach bars, no music. Just sand, sea and the horizon. Chosen by those who already know the others and are looking for something quieter.
11 km of coastline · Early morning and sunset, almost empty
Pedro Manrique Seafront Promenade
Eleven kilometres of coastline. The name honours Pedro Manrique, a republican shot at the age of 22 in 1831. Almost nobody who walks it knows this story. Worth knowing the name before you step onto it.
Free museums · Terraces · Nautical activity all year
Sports Harbour
447 moorings, fresh-fish restaurants, terraces with views of the Mediterranean and three free municipal museums. A space that works equally for eating, walking or simply watching the boats go by.
