Street art

A city painted to discover on foot.

Over seventy murals integrated into the façades of Estepona's historic centre. Real art, real walls, real neighbourhood.

No ticket. No set hours. No guide. The murals are there for whoever wants to look up.

The project

Since 2012, Estepona has transformed its historic centre into an open-air museum. Over seventy murals painted on the façades of residential buildings, coordinated by the Town Hall with national and international artists.

How it works

The selected artists work directly on the walls of the buildings, many of them inhabited. No fences, no museums, no ticket. Just streets, façades and the gaze of whoever walks past.

What you didn't expect

Some of the most striking works are on secondary streets, with no signage. The official route exists, but casual discovery is still the best way to find them.

Before you go

  • Best in the early morning or at sunset — the side light makes the colours more intense.
  • The full route takes 2 to 3 hours on foot, without rushing.
  • The murals are not numbered; getting lost is part of the plan.
