The San Isidro Fair is Estepona's spring festival. It runs from 12 to 18 May — a fixed date for nearly three centuries. It was declared a Festival of Tourist Interest in Andalusia, a recognition of its continuity and authenticity.
The verdiales — a traditional music from the mountain villages of Málaga province — are one of the most distinctive elements of this fair and set it apart from the July Feria Mayor. Together with espetos de pescado and the year's first Mediterranean heat, the combination is hard to replicate anywhere else.
The fair's origins are linked to the founding of the town in 1729. That gives it a genuine history, not one built for tourism. The fixed 12–18 May dates make advance planning straightforward.
More authentic and less known than the July Feria Mayor. Coincides with the moment Estepona starts waking up for summer.
