Tourist Day
The traditional handing out of flowers to visitors, on 7 August at 12:00 noon in Plaza de las Flores. A small gesture Estepona repeats every summer.
This edition took place in 2026. The event is held every year in Estepona.Early August, every year.
Tourist Day is one of those customs that explains rather well how Estepona relates to the people who visit it. At noon on 7 August, in Plaza de las Flores, flowers are handed out to visitors. No further ceremony.
The gesture goes back decades and survives because the town likes it. It is not a marketing exercise: it is the Tourism Department and the residents coming out into the square to say thank you for the visit.
If you are in Estepona that day, it is worth walking over. It is short, it is warm and it happens in the most photographed spot in the old town.
Ten minutes, a flower and the prettiest square in the old town. It is the moment Estepona says out loud what it usually only implies.
