Concerts at Huber Art & Food
Eighteen concert nights at Huber Art & Food, in the old town: flamenco, Cuban son, gypsy-jazz swing, flamenco guitar, Celtic folk, gypsy jazz, tangos and blues, through 31 October. Small capacity, reservation only.
Huber Art & Food is an art and dining space on Calle San Antonio, in the heart of the old town, which also doubles as a small concert room. You listen sitting down, close up, with the music a couple of metres away: the opposite of an open-air stage.
The series carried on into October with nine more nights: gypsy jazz with Gabi's Gypsy Boys on the 2nd, New Orleans swing dixie jazz on the 9th, flamenco with El Niño Javi and El Niño de los Brezos on the 10th, Brazilian jazz with Javier Palomo, Rodrigo Menoça and Markus Scheiner on the 16th, flamenco jazz with José Campaña, Carles Llusar and Jordi Jiménez on the 17th, Cuban son with Habana Vieja on the 23rd, tangos with Francis Posé, Limón García and Daniel Amat on the 24th, gypsy-jazz swing with Mostaza on the 30th and, to close, a blues night with Jo'Buddy, Saitajoki and Petranen on Saturday the 31st. Before that, the series ran through flamenco on 28 August, Cuban son on the 29th, gypsy jazz on 4 and 5 September, flamenco guitar with Daniel Casares on the 11th and 12th, Celtic folk and gypsy jazz on the 18th and 19th, and another night of Cuban son on the 25th.
They all start at 8:00 pm. There are few seats, entry is by prior reservation on 608 359 656 and payment is cash only. It is worth calling ahead: these are the kind of nights that sell out.
