About this place
Estepona's bullring, opened in 1972, is the work of architect Juan Mora Urbano. Its asymmetric design makes it a singular case within bullfighting architecture: the layout of the stands was conceived to guarantee maximum shade and comfort for spectators, setting it apart from every other arena. The Ronda matador Antonio Ordóñez was the first director of the ring. The asymmetric layout also facilitates the staging of cultural events, concerts and sporting competitions. The venue houses several municipal museums. Entry to the complex is free, making it an accessible visit regardless of the bullfighting programme.
