Mirador del Carmen
A circular lookout with views stretching east to Marbella and west to Gibraltar. The highest point on the seafront. Worth it at sunrise or sunset.
About this place
The viewpoint occupies the highest position on Estepona's coastal front, offering a unique perspective east towards Marbella and west towards Gibraltar. The circular lookout was built as an observation point and has easy access from the promenade. The best moments are at sunset, when low-angle light illuminates the African coast, and at dawn, when the Rock of Gibraltar appears as a silhouette against the sky. It is one of the few viewpoints in the municipality with simultaneous views of the European and African continents, and the only one with a direct perspective over the sea that separates them.
