Faro de Punta Doncella
A twentieth-century lighthouse working in tandem with the Punta Almina lighthouse in Ceuta to mark the Strait. The clearest view of Africa on a good day. Accessible on foot.

About this place
The lighthouse operates alongside the Punta Almina lighthouse in Ceuta to mark the shipping lanes through the Strait of Gibraltar. The headland where it stands is one of the few points on Estepona's coast where both shores of the Strait are clearly visible on a day of good visibility. The area is accessible on foot from the beach and requires no permit. The surroundings of the lighthouse are quiet and rarely visited, making it a worthwhile destination for those who want to step outside the usual routes. The best conditions are with an easterly breeze, when the air clears and the outline of Africa sharpens into focus.
