Second edition of the cycling sportive with start and finish at the fairground: 600 riders from 15 countries, 130 km and 3,300 m of climbing through the Genal valley to Peñas Blancas. Saturday 3 October, 8:00 am.
On Saturday 3 October, at 8:00 am, Estepona's Recinto Ferial, Deportivo y de Ocio is the start and finish of the Costa del Sol Gran Fondo, a cycling sportive now in its second edition with 600 riders from 15 countries.
It covers 130 km and 3,300 metres of climbing on a loop that leaves the coast behind within minutes: Casares, Gaucín, Cortes de la Frontera, Jimera de Líbar, Benadalid, Algatocín and Genalguacil, white villages of the Serranía de Ronda and the Genal valley. At kilometre 115 comes the climb to Peñas Blancas, in Sierra Bermeja, the pass La Vuelta 2026 chose for a stage finish on 11 September, before the descent back to the sea.
You do not need to ride to enjoy it: the start is at 8:00 am and the finish is at the same fairground, open until 4:15 pm. Registration is now closed. Organised by Terraincognita Sport.
A way of seeing that Estepona does not end at the beach: in one morning you go from the sea to the pinsapo firs and back.
