Estepona City Lyric Festival — Opera and Zarzuela
Teatro Lírico Andaluz presents two evenings at the bullring: 'Madama Butterfly' on Friday 24 July and 'Agua, Azucarillos y Aguardiente' on Saturday 25. Free entry both nights.
The Estepona City Lyric Festival returns in 2026 to the bullring with two evenings from the Teatro Lírico Andaluz. The programme combines opera and zarzuela in one of the most distinctive open-air venues on the Costa del Sol.
Friday 24 July — Opera: 'Madama Butterfly' by Giacomo Puccini. Saturday 25 July — Zarzuela: 'Agua, Azucarillos y Aguardiente'.
Free entry both evenings. Performances start at 21:00. The bullring transformed into a lyric stage under the July sky is an experience that is genuinely hard to find elsewhere.
Two evenings of opera and zarzuela — free — in a bullring. That Estepona offers this in summer, without fanfare, says a great deal about the city.
