Feria de Cancelada — Village Festival
Four days of village festival, 20 to 23 August, with more than twenty free activities: the opening address, a communal paella, a water party and concerts by Las Soles, Gonzalo Hermida and No Me Pises Que Llevo Chanclas.
This edition took place in 2026. The event is held every year in Estepona.Every August, in the second half of the month — the exact dates change from year to year.
Cancelada sits at the eastern edge of the municipality, on the road to Marbella, and every August it becomes the liveliest corner of Estepona for four days. In 2026 the feria runs from Thursday 20 to Sunday 23 August, and the town hall programme brings together more than twenty activities. All of them free.
It opens on Thursday at 9:30 pm with the pregón — the opening address — by Emilio Rodríguez Ruiz in Plaza de la Juventud, with the court of queens and maids of honour and dancing by Ana Guerrero. At 10:30 pm the feria lights are switched on along Avenida Marqués del Duero, led to the main marquee by Estepona's Municipal Band, and at 11:00 pm the Orquesta Metrópolis starts the first of its four nights.
Friday belongs to children and to elders: a fifty-metre water slide and an inflatable traffic circuit at 12:30 pm, the daytime feria from 2:30 pm with Grupo Latidos, free bouncy castles from 3:00 to 7:00 pm and, at 7:00 pm, the elders' merienda with a tribute to Petra Sevilla, a Cancelada resident born in 1927. At midnight, Las Soles take the stage — three sisters from Triana, in Seville.
Saturday is the big day for anyone coming from outside. Chess tournament at 10:00 am, water and foam party at the Free Wave Sports Center at 12:30 pm and, at 3:00 pm, the free paella cooked by master paella chef Raúl Postigo — the image everyone remembers from this feria. In the afternoon, flamenco pop with Sondekalle, and at midnight the Gonzalo Hermida concert.
Sunday is rociero: mass at 10:30 am in honour of the Virgen del Purísimo Corazón de María, sung by the choir of Estepona's Rocío Brotherhood, followed by a procession with the image carried on the shoulders of the women of the neighbourhood. At 12:30 pm, the third Andalusian dress competition. And to close, at 10:30 pm, No Me Pises Que Llevo Chanclas with their trademark agropop, and Sótano Sur's tribute to the golden age of Spanish pop at 12:30 am.
This is a neighbours' feria, not something staged for visitors, and that is exactly why it is worth the trip: it shows the Estepona that never makes it into the seafront photographs.
