Dance Nights of the Estepona Schools
Estepona's dance schools take their end-of-year shows outdoors on two September nights: El Taller del Arte on the 8th at the Orchid Park and La Milana on the 15th at Parque El Calvario. At 9:30 pm, free entry.
When September starts to take the edge off the heat, Estepona's dance schools move a year of work outdoors. Two nights, both at 9:30 pm and both free.
On Tuesday 8 September it is El Taller del Arte, directed by José Franco and Inmaculada Carmona, at the Orchid Park: flamenco and modern dance on a stage set up among the palms.
On Tuesday the 15th the Estudio de Baile La Milana, directed by Gemma Sánchez, takes over Parque El Calvario with a wider programme: flamenco, Spanish classical, modern dance and classical ballet.
These are not professional shows and they do not pretend to be. They are two local schools' end-of-year performances, with the families in the front rows, and that is exactly why they work: one of the few dates on the calendar where a visitor watches Estepona doing something for itself rather than for tourism.
Free entry while seats last.
