Autumn at the BCC
Seven dates in October at the Library of Contemporary Cultures: acoustic sets, painting and dance workshops, book talks, the Ciudad de Estepona Poetry Prize and a closing recital. All with free entry.
October brings the Library of Contemporary Cultures, on the Mirador del Carmen, a weekly programme of seven dates spanning music, workshops, literature and poetry. All with free entry; some require prior registration by email to bcc@estepona.es.
· Thursday 1, 8:30 pm — Acoustic set at the BCC: 'Versiones con mucho amor', by Beatriz Moreno. · Tuesday 6, 8:00 pm — Book talk: 'Rocío Jurado, la voz que nos hizo sentir libres', by Carlos Barea. · Saturday 10, 11:00 am — Painting workshop 'Metamorfosis', led by Rubén Terriza. Prior registration required. · Wednesday 14, 8:00 pm — Dance workshop 'El movimiento es espíritu: introducción al baile flamenco', led by Alberto Sellés. Prior registration required. · Thursday 15, 8:00 pm — Presentation of the 6th Ciudad de Estepona International Poetry Prize, with the concert 'Baile cantado' by Alberto Sellés. · Tuesday 27, 6:00 pm — Literary workshop 'La literatura que nos salva: lecturas esenciales sobre la soledad, el duelo y la esperanza', led by Casilda Sánchez and Violeta Dávila. Prior registration required. At 8:00 pm the same day, book talk for 'A veces nadie. Un viaje al corazón de la soledad', with Casilda Sánchez Varela. · Wednesday 28, 8:00 pm — Recital 'No me quiero ir a casa todavía. Unos poemas y unos bailes en la BCC', by Violeta Gil.
A library overlooking the sea that fills up with acoustic sets, workshops and poetry almost every week in October — the BCC's busiest cultural autumn on the calendar.
