3rd Ruta 091 Estepona
National Police charity run and walk for the Los Pasos de Noa association: children's races at 10:00 am and a 4.6 km adult route through the centre and along the seafront. Start and finish at the Mirador del Carmen.
The Ruta 091 returns to Estepona on Sunday 8 November for its third edition. It is organised by the town council and the Spanish National Police, and the entry fees go to Los Pasos de Noa, a Málaga association set up to support Noa, a girl with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), and her family.
The morning starts at 10:00 am with the children's races: about 200 metres for ages 0 to 4, who run accompanied; 500 metres for ages 5 to 8; and one kilometre for ages 9 to 12. Then the adults set off, running or walking the 4.6 km route: Avenida de España, Calle de la Villa, Santa Ana, Terraza, Real, Caridad and Arroyuelo, down to the Pedro Manrique seafront promenade, across the fishing port footbridge and back along Avenida del Carmen. The circuit is closed to traffic. From age 13, young people can take part with parental consent.
Entry costs €12 for adults and €10 for children, and a 'Dorsal 0' option allows a voluntary donation. Registration is at ruta091.es or dorsalchip.es until 29 October at 11:59 pm or until places run out. Bibs are collected on 6 and 7 November at the National Police SATE office in the Casa de las Tejerinas, Plaza de las Flores.
A Sunday morning to run or walk through the old town and the port with the whole family, with every bib adding up for a cause.
