On 15 August, the Brotherhood of Santa María de los Remedios carries Estepona's historic patron saint in procession through the streets of the historic centre.

On 15 August, the procession in honour of the Virgen Santa María de los Remedios takes place — Estepona's historic patron saint. The Brotherhood organises a series of events in the preceding days, including a popular fair and a Marian tribute before the procession on the 15th.
The main day starts in the morning, at 11:00 am, with the solemn concelebrated Mass in the church of Santa María de los Remedios. In the evening, at 7:30 pm, the procession sets out: it leaves the church and passes through Plaza San Francisco, calles Blas Ortega, Sevilla, San Juan and Jesús Nazareno, Plaza Francisco Umbral, the Casa Hermandad and calles Ramón y Cajal, Casares and Monterroso before returning.
The church of Nuestra Señora de los Remedios, in the Plaza San Francisco in the historic centre, is the heart of the celebration. It is one of the oldest religious traditions in Estepona, recalling the centuries when the Virgen de los Remedios was the city's principal patron, before that role passed to the Virgen del Carmen.
