Open-Air Summer Cinema 2026
Eight summer Mondays of free cinema under the stars. Screenings at 10:00 pm in the Orchidarium Botanical Park and the Parque de la Juventud in Cancelada.
Open-air cinema is one of those customs Estepona has never let go of. Every Monday in July and August, at 10:00 pm, a film is screened outdoors. Entry is free and there is no booking: you arrive early, take a seat and wait for the light to fade.
Most screenings take place in the Orchidarium Botanical Park, among glasshouses and tropical vegetation — probably the strangest and most beautiful place to watch a film anywhere on the Costa del Sol. Some nights the screening moves to the Parque de la Juventud, in the Cancelada neighbourhood.
July: 'Flow, a World Worth Saving' on the 13th at the Orchidarium, 'How to Train Your Dragon' on the 20th in Cancelada and 'A Minecraft Movie' on the 27th at the Orchidarium.
August: 'Jurassic World: Rebirth' on the 3rd, 'Lilo & Stitch' on the 10th in Cancelada, 'Superman' on the 17th, 'Voy a pasármelo mejor' on the 24th and 'Karate Kid: Legends' on the 31st. Recent titles, all suitable for families.
One practical tip: in summer it is still warm at 10:00 pm, but it cools down by the end of the film. Worth bringing a layer.
Watching a film among tropical plants, free and in the open air. It is the easiest summer plan to recommend to anyone travelling with children.
