Summer Exhibitions
Eight exhibitions spread across the town-centre venues between August and October: sculpture, painting, photography and open-air art. All with free entry.
In summer, Estepona splits its exhibition programme between Casa de las Tejerinas — the building on Plaza de las Flores that serves as the municipal cultural centre — and a handful of halls and galleries in the centre. Entry is free everywhere and the full circuit can be walked in a single morning.
**Casa de las Tejerinas.** 'Apogeo: The Irruption of Being', sculptures by Toby Govan, until 30 September. In Hall 1, 'Visual Haiku', paintings by Raquel Fierro, until 16 September. Hall 2 changes over too: 'Sigilos, the Guardians of the Sky', paintings by Marta Zaragoza, until 2 September, and 'Changes on the Horizon', paintings by Aga Strauss, from 3 to 23 September. In the Alfonso Gil Alfonso Hall and the central courtyard, the photographic tribute to Mario Algaze from Jorge Reynardus's private collection.
**Beyond Las Tejerinas.** At the Mirador del Carmen exhibition hall, above Playa del Cristo, 'From Figure to Matter', around thirty paintings by Alejandro Hermann, until 19 September, Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. At the Stoa Art Gallery, in the marina, 'The Other Trees of Eden' by Conchi Álvarez, until 9 October. And on Calle Terraza, outdoors and at any hour, 'The Path: from the invisible to the visible', by Brianda Fitz-James Stuart.
General opening hours at Casa de las Tejerinas: Tuesday to Friday 9:00 am to 8:00 pm, and Saturdays 9:00 am to 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A free art circuit with five minutes' walk between venues. It is the perfect morning plan for a hot day.
