Halloween Estepona 2026: Stephen King week and party at the Palacio
Estepona celebrates Halloween with a week devoted to Stephen King at the Teatro Felipe VI, for the 50th anniversary of 'Carrie', and a big free party on Saturday 31 at the Palacio de Congresos: costume contest, children's party, haunted passage and Dr. Jones live.
This year Halloween comes with a tribute. It is 50 years since 'Carrie', Stephen King's first novel, and the Asociación Cultural Unicornio and the Town Council are marking it with a week of films, books and scary music that ends with the party on Saturday 31.
Monday 26, in Hall 2 of the Teatro Felipe VI: at 7:30 pm the 'Universo King' exhibition opens, with film posters from different countries, books, records, magazines and collectors' items, on show until the end of the month. At 8:00 pm the writer Julio Peces Ruiz gives the talk 'Carrie White se quema en el infierno', and at 8:30 pm 'Carrie', by Brian De Palma (1976), is screened.
Tuesday 27, at 7:30 pm: 'Christine', by John Carpenter (1983).
Wednesday 28, at 7:30 pm: 'The Dark Tower', by Nikolaj Arcel (2017).
Thursday 29: at 7:30 pm the book 'Stephen King, The Art of Horror' is presented, with texts by Julio Peces and illustrations by Andrés Antúnez, and at 8:30 pm 'Stand by Me', by Rob Reiner (1986), is screened.
Friday 30, at 8:30 pm: the Banda Sinfónica Ciudad de Jaén, conducted by Toni Villanueva, plays 'Sinfonía del Terror' in Hall 1, with a first half devoted to Stephen King. Entry is with a free invitation from teatroestepona.com, two per person at most.
Saturday 31, from 7:00 pm, the party: the Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos opens free to everyone, hosted by David Suárez. There is a children's party with bouncy castles and sweets for trick or treat, the 'HP Lovecraft' escape room (free sign-up on the spot, first come, first served), the virtual reality experience 'El ascensor' (The lift), a show by Ocean Danza y Acrobacia, DJs and, from 8:00 pm, the haunted passage. The 'Universo King' exhibition also moves to the Palacio.
The costume contest needs no registration: five prizes of €500 for groups and ten of €100 for characters, handed out at 9:30 pm. At 10:00 pm Dr. Jones plays covers from the 70s to the 2000s, followed by a DJ from midnight. The bar, at popular prices, is run by the Hermandad de Nuestra Señora del Carmen Coronada. The films and talks are in Spanish.
A Stephen King week for those who have been scared of clowns for years and a night of costumes for those who just want a good time: Halloween in Estepona has both.
