About this place

The Ángel Aqueduct is a complex of waterwheel well and aqueduct dating from the nineteenth century, a testament to the central role agriculture played in Estepona's economy. The municipality was for many centuries one of the most significant farming areas in the province of Málaga, and this hydraulic infrastructure reflects the irrigation and supply needs of that era. The complex is found to the north of the municipality, in rural land, with no tourist signage or organised access. That absence of mediation gives it the character of a genuine discovery — something worth seeking out.
